IMAGE READING/RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading/recording apparatus excellent in miniaturization and operability so as to be set on a desk and easily used. SOLUTION: The apparatus has an original document platen for placing an original document; an original document reading means having an optical means for reading the original document while moving along the original document platen; a sheet supporting means provided on the lower part of the original document reading means and supporting a sheet for forming an image; an ink jet recording means provided on the side upper part of the original document reading means and the upper part of the sheet supporting means, and jetting inks onto a sheet supported by the sheet supporting means to form an image; and a sheet discharging means for discharging the sheet having the image formed by the ink jet recording means to the upper part of the original document reading means. The apparatus is configured so that a sheet carrying direction is substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of an optical means in the original document reading means.
