PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication apparatus arranged to transmit image data to an external archive unit in which the transmission of image data not subjected to archive processing is prevented when archive processing has been set. SOLUTION: A facsimile device 100 comprises a communication section 114 for transmitting image data to a predetermined destination, an archive processing control section 110 for setting archive processing where the image data transmitted from the communication section 114 to the predetermined destination are transmitted to an external archive unit and suspending the transmission of the image data if the transmission of the image data is instructed in a state of being incapable of performing archive processing when archive processing has been set, and a display processing section 106 for displaying the fact that the archive processing has been set when the archive processing control section 110 suspends the transmission of the image data.
