PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a boarding car position having a low congestion degree to search for a route allowing easy movement to the boarding car position by use of an elevator, an escalator or the like in consideration of a congestion degree in a station yard. SOLUTION: This optimum route search device has: a first means receiving search conditions of the route including priority related to a boarding desired time condition, a use condition of vertical moving means, and a desired congestion degree condition related to the congestion degree, and retrieving a boarding train on the basis of the boarding desired time condition and timetable data; a second means retrieving the congestion degree in each car of the retrieved boarding train from a train congestion degree data storage part; and a third means searching for the optimum route satisfying the use condition of the vertical moving means and the desired congestion degree condition among the trains retrieved by the first means on the basis of the desired congestion degree condition, the congestion degree in each car and the use condition of the vertical moving means received from the input means, the congestion degree in the station yard acquired from a yard congestion degree data storage part, and position information data of facilities in the station yard acquired from a position information data storage part.
