PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a clear binary image in which missing of character part from a color image is suppressed. SOLUTION: The color image processor comprises a means 11 of acquiring a color image, a means 12 for specifying a pixel forming an edge from a color image acquired by the color image acquiring means 11, a means 13 of calculating the pixel value of a pixel specified as a pixel forming an edge by the edge forming pixel specifying means 12, a means 14 for determining a binarization threshold based on a pixel value calculated by the edge forming pixel value calculating means 13, and a means 15 for binarizing the pixel of the color image, based on the binarization threshold determined by the binarization threshold determining means 14.
