PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle for coating paste having superior dispersibility of inorganic powder such as conductive powder, ceramic powder and glass powder, and to provide a coating paste that uses the vehicle for the coating paste having superior adhesiveness and can prevent delamination. SOLUTION: This vehicle for the coating paste for manufacturing the coating paste, by mixing the inorganic powder contains a polyvinyl acetal resin and organic solvent. The polyvinyl acetal resin is dissolved in the organic solvent, having a boiling point of 150 to 250°C at a concentration of 10 wt%, and the viscosity measured, by using an E type viscometer under a condition of a shear rate 10s<SP>-1</SP>at 30°C is 10 to 250Pa s.
