PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool core which has excellent cooling efficiency, can shorten the cycle time of casting has long service life, can reduce the exchange frequency of components, and contributes to a cost reduction. SOLUTION: The spool core 10 provided with a runner 13 is made into an integral structure and a temperature control circuit 14 for passing a temperature regulating fluid, such as cooling water, is formed in a continuous state having substantially no branching and confluent points along a contact surface with molten metal, i.e. the front end surface and the runner 13 of a circular truncated cone-shape section 12.
