PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine capable of improving a water saving effect, a washing performance and a rinsing performance. SOLUTION: Inside a water tub 2, a drum 3 for housing laundry is freely rotatably arranged. The drum 3 is provided with a small hole for communicating a space between the water tub 2 and the drum 3 and a space inside the drum 3. By the operation of a circulation pump, water between the water tub 2 and the drum 3 is put out of the water tub 2 and sent to a nozzle 8 for washing.
