The invention relates to the bending of glass sheets. The inventive method consists in heating all of the sheet as it passes continuously into a kiln, up to a temperature close to the sheet-softening temperature, and applying localised heat on the pre-heated sheet in the zones that are to undergo the strongest curvature, said localised heating being performed with heating elements that are positioned opposite the zones with the strongest curvature.The progressive movement of the sheet is accompanied by the successive triggering of, or increase in the power delivered from one or more series of heating elements that are disposed opposite the zones of the sheets subjected to said additional heating operation. |
