Two or more housing components(2,3) are brought together and welded(9,10) to each other at individual points(7). An adhesive layer(4) is introduced between the components when the weld has solidified. Adhesive(4) is applied to the opposing contact faces of the two components(2,3) before they are brought together. The adhesive is cured under standard conditions without use of additional holders or fixtures on the plastic components. Welding may be achieved by either vibration, ultrasonic, laser, heating plate or microwave methods. A welding aid, in particular soot, may be added to the point welding areas in the case of particular welding methods. Welding points may be located either outside of or within the boundary of the adhesive layer.
