PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the mounting order of components suitable for high speed high density mounting while taking account of the interference of the component caused by the arch motion or the like of a mounting head.

SOLUTION: The method for determining the mounting order of components when the components are mounted on a substrate by a component mounting machine equipped with a mounting head comprises a step (S6110) for determining the mounting order of all components mounted on the substrate in units of component group composed of components corresponding to one or more mounting points, and a step (S6111) for dividing all the components into tasks, i. e. component groups mounted by single series operation in the repetition of a series of sucking and mounting operations of the component by the mounting head in a state that the mounting order determined at the mounting order determining step (S6110) is sustained and determining the mounting order of the divided tasks.
