PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device which can reliably insert/eject an MD and reduce the costs for miniaturizing it. SOLUTION: This reproducing device has a drive chassis 300 having a recording/reproducing section 800 to reproduce the information on an MD, a floating mechanism to keep the drive chassis 300 and the MD in a floating state when reproducing the information in the recording/reproducing section 800, and a lock mechanism which regulates the movement of the MD by the floating mechanism of the drive chassis 300 in the insertion/ejection direction in association with the ejection operation of the MD by an insertion/ejection mechanism.
