PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy, while avoiding misdetections, when inspecting internal defects of an inspection tire 11. SOLUTION: A sidewall part 21 of the inspection tire 11 is divided into a plurality of concentric ring domains, and threshold processing is performed by a detection means 40 to image data of a radiation transmitted through each ring domain of the rotating inspection tire 11. Hereby, the threshold can be set at the optimum value in each ring domain, and consequently the internal defect can be detected, while preventing both misdetections and detection mistakes.
