PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single crystal zinc oxide nanotube applicable to optoelectronics or the like and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The zinc sulfide nanotube having a length of about 10μm, an outer diameter of 80-130 nm, and a wall thickness of about 10 nm is obtained by putting a zinc sulfide powder 4 into a graphite crucible 5 and heating the zinc sulfide powder 4 at 1,620-1,700°C for 1.5-2 h under a flow of a mixed gas 7 consisting of steam and an inert gas.
