PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust box, having a self-cleaning function and a hydrophilic function of a photocatalyst, high hardness, and excellent peeling resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and heat resistance. SOLUTION: This dust box has a number of projections comprising titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide in at least in part of its surface. A layer having a number of micro-columns comprising titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide is exposed in at least part of the surface, or a number of continuous narrow projection parts and the micro-columns provided on the projected parts comprising titanium oxide or titanium alloy oxide are exposed on a thin film. The projections, that is the micro-columns or the narrow projected parts are carbon-doped.
