PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop operation of specific load before a temperature of suction air is high and thereby a temperature of mixing air becomes high to generate knocking, to eliminate stopping of operation of the specific load when the temperature of the suction air is low and the detected load is small and to reduce frequency for stopping the operation of the specific load. SOLUTION: In the operation control method for the internal combustion engine, the number of revolution of an engine is raised when load is applied from the outside to the internal combustion engine at idling operation. Magnitude of the applied load and the temperature of the suction air of the internal combustion engine are detected and when the detected temperature of the suction air is high, the operation of the specific load is stopped at the smaller load than when the temperature of the suction air is low.
