PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher by which washing water in a water holding tank can be drained by simple operation from a user. SOLUTION: A control means 27 determined that there is a draining instruction when various kinds of buttons arranged in an operation section 2 are continuously operated for a predetermined time, repeatedly executes start/stop of a drain pump 23, standby for a predetermined time, and start/stop of a water supply pump 17, thereby making it possible to discharge the washing water 12 in the water holding tank 10.
