PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve energy saving, when an MFP sleep mode is released by using a network address. SOLUTION: An IP address is assigned for each operation, such as Print operation, Scan operation, Fax communication, and network command control. When a packet is received from a network during the sleep of the MFP, the IP address of the network packet and an address assigned to a job are compared with each other, and then, power supplies are turned on for necessary circuits and devices. When a packet, having an IP address showing a print job comes, only the circuits required for printing operation are released from sleep, such as printing related devices, including a fixing unit, a printer image processing circuit, a CPU in a controller, and a memory.
