PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in the image quality by suppressing flicker caused under illumination of fluorescent lights.
SOLUTION: In the case of imaging of one frame by a solid-state image sensor section 1, a storage time control circuit 2 controls the solid-state image sensor section 1 so that an odd number of columns among the columns of solid-state imaging elements are driven in a storage time of n/100 second where no flicker is caused under the illumination of a 50Hz power supply and an even number of columns among the columns of solid-state imaging elements are driven in a storage time of n/120 second where no flicker is caused under the illumination of a 60Hz power supply individually to each other thereby generating field images in two kinds of different storage times within a first frame. A flicker detection circuit 3 detects a flicker component by division processing applied to both field images. A gain control circuit 4 calculates a correction gain signal corresponding to a correction gain proportional to an inverted phase of the detected flicker component. A gain variable amplifier 5 applies the correction gain depending on the correction gain signal to video signals of second and succeeding frames from the solid-state image sensor section 1 to correct the video signals so that the flicker components in the video signals are canceled together.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
