<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a varistor in which the capacitance can be reduced, and to provide its production process. <P>SOLUTION: The varistor comprises a first layer 1 composed of a varistor material and having internal electrodes 2 and 3, and a second layer 4 and a third layer 5 arranged on the opposite sides of the first layer 1 while being connected electrically with the internal electrodes 2 and 3 and composed of a material having a dielectric constant lower than that of the varistor material wherein the second layer 4 and the third layer 5 are connected with external electrodes 6 and 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
