PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper for an accelerator cable capable of considerably improving the elastic characteristic without degrading the vibration-isolating performance, and an accelerator cable with the damper for the accelerator cable. SOLUTION: The substantially cylindrical damper for the accelerator cable is attached to an outer circumference of an end of an inner cable 3 for the accelerator cable, and interposed between an accelerator pedal 2 and a cable end member of the inner cable 3. A deflection-load curve consists of a first range in which the load is increased at the predetermined gradient in a substantially proportional manner from the origin, and a second range in which the load is changed at the gradient of zero or the positive gradient smaller than the predetermined gradient, where the axis of abscissa denotes the deflection caused by the compression in the axial direction and the axis of ordinate denotes the load to cause the deformation.
