PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compression-molded wood capable of putting the characteristics of wood to practical use and also excellent in strength, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A lower case 2 is manufactured by a method composed of a compression process for compression-molding blank wood 4 by molds 10B and 10A which have three-dimensional shapes to transfer the three-dimensional shapes of a side surface forming molding surface 10e and a bottom surface forming 10f to the compressed wood 6 to respectively form not only a highly compressed part 6a in the vicinity of the surface of the compressed wood but also a low compressed part 6b on the inner side thereof and a shaping process for shaping the compressed wood 6 formed in the compression process by cutting processing so as to leave the surface three-dimensional shapes of the highly compressed part 6a and at least a part of the low compressed part 6b.
