PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end part of a side-viewing type endoscope, capable of preventing the illumination light from directly entering an observation window from an illumination window and effectively inhibiting generation of a ghost or flare by a simple structure at a low cost. SOLUTION: The observation window 11 and the illumination window 12 are disposed adjacent to each other on a side surface of the distal end 2 of an insertion part 1 in the distal end part of the side-viewing type endoscope. A shading type adhesive 20 is applied to the whole width of the boundary between the observation window 11 and the illumination window 12 and hardened in the swelling state.
