The invention relates to a bonnet hinge for the closure of a bonnet on the chassis of a motor vehicle, comprising a cutting device with a cutting element, a cutting blade and a stop, fixing the normal closed position of the bonnet and embodied such that on exceeding a threshold value, the stop is displaced downwards beyond the normal closed position against a resistance generated by the tensioning device. Said resistance is generated by a cutting of the cutting element during the displacement of the stop by means of a movement of the cutting blade relative to the cutting element.
