This invention relates to anticancer therapy and more precisely to the immunological control of cancer. Specifically this invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions incorporating as the active ingredient a glucosamine disaccharide OM- 174 of formula(I) together with known antineoplastic agents, selected principally from the group consisting of alkylating agents and antimetabolic agents, in conjunction or admixture with an inert non toxic pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier. This invention also relates to ionic derivatives of OM- 174.
