Included is a method for playing streaming content in a componentized player, the method comprising displaying a media player component configured to display the streaming content; displaying an advertisement component that provides product information (568); detecting a user selection of the advertisement component (570); and displaying another component in response to detecting the user selection without interfering with a user's access to the streaming content (572).
