PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network apparatus suited to respective media kinds of data signal, capable of selecting a network apparatus arranged in the vicinity as a connection destination apparatus and capable of establishing connection with the connection destination apparatus without requiring any user's operation, and a program to be applied to the network apparatus. SOLUTION: The network apparatus is provided with: a distance decision part 12 for deciding whether a distance between the DVD 10 arranged in a network and a TV 20 to an audio apparatus 90 is within a prescribed distance or not; an apparatus information transmitting/receiving part 11 for acquiring apparatus information for specifying a function included in the TV 20 to the audio apparatus 90; a connection destination selection part 14 for selecting a connection destination apparatus capable of establishing connection for transmitting a data signal on the basis of the decision result by the distance decision part 12 and the apparatus information acquired by the apparatus information transmitting/receiving part 11; and a connection processing part 15 for establishing connection with the connection destination apparatus selected by the connection destination selection part 14.
