PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical device in which electronic components interposed between a pair of members are sealed suitably, and in which an area, a shape and a position of a sealant layer are controlled accurately, and also to provide the optical device manufactured by the manufacturing method of the optical device. SOLUTION: This is the manufacturing method of the optical device in which the electronic components interposed between the pair of the members have a structure sealed by the sealant layer composed of a face sealant part capable of covering at least the electronic components, and the outer frame sealant part for surrounding the face sealant part. This method has: a process (1-1) in which the uncured outer frame sealant part is formed in one member and in which the uncured face sealant part is formed inside the uncured outer frame sealant part; and a process (1-2) in which the other members are pasted together via the uncured outer frame sealant part and the face sealant part.
