PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt drive system reducing misalignment. SOLUTION: The belt drive system is provided with an autotensioner 8 applying a fixed tension on a belt 7 so as to prevent slip between a starter pulley 4 and a crank pulley and the belt 7. The autotensioner is fixed on a front housing 12 of a starter 2 by a bolt. Consequently, since the starter pulley 4 and the autotensioner 8 can be positioned in relation to the front housing 12, position accuracy of a starter pulley shaft (output shaft 3) and an autotensioner shaft is improved and misalignment between the both can be reduced. As a result, not only generation of vibration and noise can be reduced but also uneven wear of the belt can be suppressed to extend lifetime of the belt 7. The extension of lifetime of bearing 11 supporting the output shaft 3 and a bearing supporting the autotensioner shaft can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
