PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of an intake guide device forming a muffling chamber and reduce intake noise. SOLUTION: An intake device for an internal combustion engine has the intake guide device 50 forming an intake guide passage 51 and a carbureter 80. The intake guide passage 51 includes: a first muffling chamber 54 having an intake inlet 52; a second muffling chamber 55 communicating with the first muffling chamber 54; and an outlet passage 57 communicating with the second muffling chamber 55 and having an intake outlet 53 connected with an upstream end opening of an intake passage 82 of the carbureter 80. The outlet passage 57, the second muffling chamber 55, and the first muffling chamber 54 are stacked up in this order upward from a portion near the intake passage, and a body 81 and the first muffling chamber 54 look like overlapped with each other when viewed in a vertical direction.
