PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality diagnostic device capable of improving the estimation precision of temperature of a detected object such as coolant water for cooling an engine and improving the abnormality diagnostic precision of a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the detected object. SOLUTION: The abnormality diagnostic device for diagnosing abnormality of a water temperature sensor 13 for detecting the temperature of the coolant water is equipped with an abnormality diagnostic means which diagnoses the abnormality of the water temperature sensor 13 based on a temperature change detected by the water temperature sensor 13 under the condition that the parameter of a main cause for heating the coolant water (for instance, temperature of the engine) decreases.
