The door lintel has a tensile band preferably of concrete integrated in same so that the lintel completely surrounds the band except for the end sides of same. The lintel has a through recess (3a-3d) to receive the band. The lintel or support element can be made from one continuous or several interconnected lime sand bricks (2a) each having a recess running in the longitudinal direction for the tensile band. The lime sand bricks can be made by a pressing process.
