NOVEL COMPOUND SELECTIVELY ACTIVATED AT TARGET SITE AND UTILIZATION OF THE SAME

It is intended to provide a novel compound, which is usable as a prodrug suitable for target therapy for cancer and the water solubility of which has been improved so that it can be efficiently delivered to a target site, and a probe for diagnostic imaging for hypoxic diseases such as cancer. A function part is attached to an inhibitory part via a linker part having a structure of improving solubility in water. As the inhibitory part, use is made of a unit which is selectively released in the presence of cells under hypoxic conditions such as cancer cells. As the function part, use is made of an anticancer agent, a probe for diagnostic imaging, etc.
