<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an apparatus for image forming capable of restraining deterioration in the image quality of an image. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for image forming has: an image carrier; a plurality of developing devices equipped with a developer carrier, and a space holding member provided on the developer carrier, capable of separating from/abutting on the image carrier and holding space between the image carrier and the developer carrier by abutting on the image carrier; a transfer medium to which a developer image formed by developing a latent image by the developer carrier is successively transferred; a reference signal generation part for generating a plurality of reference signals for the plurality of developing devices being the reference of the operation of the developing devices; and a control part for controlling separation timing to make the space holding member separate from the image carrier, and making a time required until the space holding member separates therefrom after the reference signal made to correspond to one developing device is generated different from a time required until the space holding member separates therefrom after the reference signal made to correspond to the other developing device is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
