PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device for relieving cumbersomeness imposed on a user by indication of collateral information without losing a function as an emergency notice means included in the collateral information displayed attended with video data in reproducing the video data. SOLUTION: The display control device includes: a reception section 104 for receiving video data and the collateral information being information displayed collaterally for the display of the video data; a judgement section 111 for judging whether or not the collateral information is displayed on the basis of period information being information to prescribe a period when the collateral information is displayed; and a video composite section 112 for outputting the collateral information and the video data when the judgement section 111 judges the display of the collateral information.
