PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf type warehouse capable of realizing such a rapid and easy warehouse rack load handling at low cost as a pallet handling. SOLUTION: This shelf type warehouse comprises shelves for storing loads, particularly bar-like or plate-like loads, stored in containers and a shelf load handling device. The shelf forms shelf compartments 6a and 6b for storing the containers. The shelf load handling device comprises a grip device 18 movable relative to the shelf load handing device and performing the load handling of a pallet 7e. A fork type lifting table 16 passed through the lower side of the pallet 7e for performing the load handling of the pallet comprises a lift mechanism for raising and lowering the pallet in the shelf compartment.
