PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper width aligning device capable of well correcting the skew of paper by securely aligning the width of the paper even if paper sheets are different in size from each other and a double-sided unit having the width aligning device. SOLUTION: Disk-like driven rotating bodies 30a and 30b are disposed in a width aligning cursor 27a at two positions. The driven rotating bodies 30a and 30b are formed rotatable about a pivot shaft 31 as a rotating axis and along a paper feeding direction (in the direction of arrow CC'). A compression spring 38 is disposed between the inner face 37 of the width aligning cursor 27a and a guide member 33 to energize the driven rotating bodies 30a and 30b in a direction apart from the inner face 37. Thus, the driven rotating bodies 30a and 30b are swung in a paper width direction by the balance of the energizing force of the compression spring 38 with the resistance of the paper to be aligned laterally.
