PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a jamming sheet easily. SOLUTION: An inverted transport device 13 for sheets is equipped with a U-turn path 13b having an approximately U-form inner side wall 13b2a for inverting in guidance a sheet fed from a feed hole and ejecting from an eject hole and outer side walls 13b1a and 13b3a confronting the inner side wall and an inverting main roller 13a and follower rollers 13a1 and 13a2 installed on the U-turn path 13b for transporting the sheet, wherein the outer side wall are each divided into an upstream portion 13b1a and a downstream portion 13b3a in the sheet transporting direction and supported capable of approaching and separating to/from the inner side wall. If the upstream portions 13b1a and downstream portions 13b3a are separated from the inner side wall 13b2a, the U-turn path 13b is opened to allow access for removing the jamming sheet.
