PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image printer capable of surely printing a tracing pattern without reference to the quality of a coloring agent of a hard-to-visually-recognize color, an image printing method, and an image printing program. SOLUTION: This color laser printer 10 makes a printer mechanism 31 automatically print the tracing pattern on a white background part (an area where an image is not formed) of paper P by using hard-to-visually-recognize yellow toner. Quality information (e. g. information on the use history of a toner cartridge 40Y) on the yellow toner stored in the toner cartridge 40Y is acquired from an IC memory 50Y, and it is determined whether the tracing pattern is printed by using the yellow toner or toner except the yellow toner, on the basis of the acquired information. For example, when there is the risk that the tracing pattern cannot be printed by using the yellow toner, in terms of the information on the use history, the tracing pattern is printed by using the toner except the yellow toner.
