PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in connecting and disconnecting motion of a portable power tool to and from a working belt. SOLUTION: This locking device 12 for the portable power tool is installed on the portable power tool 2 furnished with a motive power part 4 on the head end side of which a motive power shaft is provided and a holding part 5 extended downward from the motive power part 4 free to connect and disconnect to and from it. The locking device 12 is furnished with a roughly ring type hooking part 13, a side part 14 provided to extend from a part of the hooking part 13 and a mounting tool 15 to fix the side part 14 on the motive power part free to connect and disconnect to and from it, and an opening part 17 for installation is formed on a rear end part of the side part 14. It is possible to arrange the opening part 17 in the rear of the motive power part 4 of the portable power tool 2 by fixing the side part 14 on the motive power part 4 by the mounting tool 15 in a state where the side part 14 is arranged on a side surface of the portable power tool 2 by hooking the hooking part 13 on a head end part region of the motive power part 4 of the portable power tool 2.
