The device for ejection of pets from an engine compartment of a motor vehicle comprises an ultrasound source for emitting acoustic ultrasound and a lighting diode which, in active mode of the device, alternates in an switch-on and switch-off position. When the device is operating the switched lighting diodes are lit with an intensity of at least 10 Candela. The light intensity may be at least 20 Candela, preferably at least 50 Candela. There may be a reflector (7) that increase the light performance by focusing the light rays at limited chamber angle. The lighting diode may emit red light.
