<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian crash protection device for a vehicle capable of certainly releasing lock of a hinge mechanism at deployment of an air bag in the pedestrian crash protection device for the vehicle having the air bag stored below a rear end of a bonnet hood and constituted deployable at a front surface side of a windshield, selectively supporting the bonnet hood in the first stage that a rear end side becomes a center of opening/closing and in the second state that the rear end side can be lifted up and provided with a hinge mechanism locked in the first state by a lock member at non-deployment of the air bag. <P>SOLUTION: The pedestrian crash protection device for the vehicle is provided with a plate-like member 62 displaced accompanying with deployment at deployment of the air bag; and a bracket 63 and a wire 64 for connecting the plate-like member 62 and the lock member 58 and displacing the lock member 58 by displacement of the plate-like member 62 at deployment of the air bag such that locking of the hinge mechanism 50 is released. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
