PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image recording/reproducing apparatus that easily arranges and stores a large number of photographic images, and displays them for viewing, and to reduce a failure in taking photographic images. SOLUTION: In the image recording/reproducing apparatus including an image photographing section and an image storing/display section, the image photographing section has a means for adding associated information on a photographic image to an image when the image is photographed. Furthermore, the image storing/display section has a means for performing display according to the associated information when the photographic image is displayed. The image photographing section uses a method of taking in image information as electronic data using a device such as CCD (charge coupled device) without using a silver salt film. The associated information is also formed as electronic data and thus integrally treated.
