PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket unit for a scaffolding pipe, which is mass-produceable while ensuring a correct shape and a correct dimension with high accuracy, and exerts excellent mechanical strength, and to provide a method of producing the socket unit, and the scaffolding pipe using the socket unit. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the socket unit, two side walls 111 to 141 and 112 to 142 of socket portions 11 to 14 rise on both sides of bottom walls 115 to 145 in a manner being perpendicular to the bottom walls, and opposed to each other, respectively. The socket portions 11 to 14 are arranged at angular locations that are set by rotating 90 degrees from each other, and connected to each other via mutually adjacent edges 113 to 143. A pipe insertion hole 16 is enclosed by the socket portions 11 to 14, and welding holes 17 are each formed by penetrating a connection portion 15. The socket unit 10 for the scaffolding pipe is combined with a pipe member 20, and they are for use as the scaffolding pipe. The pipe member 20 is inserted into the pipe insertion hole 16, and the socket unit 10 for the scaffolding pipe is welded to the scaffolding pipe via the welding holes 16.
