PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry nonwoven fabric composed of an air laid nonwoven fabric comprising a web formed of cellulosic fibers such as pulp, joining only fibers in the surface layer part with a binder, containing no heat fusible fiber, improving the strength in a dry and a wet states of the air laid nonwoven fabric and raising a heat embossed part as a translucent pattern when wetted without simply collapsing a pattern by heat embossing even when wetted and to provide wet paper, a wiper, etc., using the dry nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The dry nonwoven fabric is obtained by forming the web from the cellulosic fibers, laminating a plurality of sheets of the air laid nonwoven fabrics 3 and 3' without containing the heat fusible fibers and mutually heat fusing the plurality of sheets of the air laid nonwoven fabrics 3 and 3' in the laminated state with heat embossing rolls 1 and 2 and mutually heat fusing the plurality of sheets of the air laid nonwoven fabrics in a heat embossing part.
