PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording device or the like exercised with ingenuity in recording or in reproduction such that digital data recorded in a recording medium can be properly read. SOLUTION: An incident face 23a of a spatial optical modulator 23 is formed with a large number of digital data conversion areas 23b, 23c, etc., and the respective digital data conversion areas 23b, 23c, etc. are formed at intervals L1. Though the digital data are recorded by irradiating the recording medium with reference light and data light, the digital data are recorded in the recording medium at intervals larger than before because the respective digital data conversion areas 23b, 23c, etc. are formed at the intervals L1. Accordingly, even if an incident angle in time of the reproduction is different from an incident angle of the reference light in time of the recording, pieces of the data are not overlapped to properly read the data.
