PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fork lift capable of conducting the operation safely without dropping the objects in case they are to be unloaded to a high place. SOLUTION: The fork lift is equipped with masts installed upright on the left and right of the front of the fork lift body, a lift bracket 3 elevated and sunk along the masts, a fork 6 supported by the lift bracket 3, and a pallet-locking device 10 for locking to the fork 6 each pallet P inserted to the fork 6, wherein the arrangement includes a lift sensing device to sense that the fork 6 has attained the specified lift or it, and in accordance with the output of the lift sensing device, locking by the pallet-locking device 10 is released.
