<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polar liquid supply body for a fuel cell with its polar liquid supplied free from stain and equipped with a function of supplying the polar liquid to a fuel cell or its hydrogen converter and a function as an exhaust channel of carbon dioxide generated, as well as a manufacturing method of the supply body and a fuel cell using such a polar liquid supply body. <P>SOLUTION: The polar liquid supply body for the fuel cell has continuous foams of an average pore size of 100 to 200 nm with a hydrophilic group such as a carboxyl group formed at least at a part of the pore surface and consisting of hydrocarbon system continuous foam, the manufacturing method of the polar liquid supply body includes a process of forming a fluoroformyl group on the pore surface by passing fluorine gas under existence of oxygen-containing gas, and then a process of hydrolyzing the fluoroformyl group to form a carboxyl group, and the fuel cell supplies the polar liquid to a reformer or a fuel electrode through the polar liquid supply body, and at the same time, exhausts the hydrocarbon generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
