<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a high-grade image. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus equipped with a fixing device having a plurality of heat generation source, any one priority among the first, second and third priorities for energizing the heat generation sources so as not to exceed the prescribed total electric power consumption according to the respective operating states of the image forming apparatus is allocated to a plurality of the heat generation sources. The heat generation sources allocated with the first and second priorities are subjected to energization control in such a manner that respective prescribed members maintain the prescribed temperatures. The image forming apparatus has a control means of not performing energization to the heat generation source allocated with the third priority while the energization to the heat generation source allocated with the second priority is performed and controlling the energization in such a manner that the prescribed member maintains the heat generation source allocated with the third priority at a prescribed temperature while the energization to the heat generation source allocated with the second priority is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
