<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid situations assumed to happen when an information change operation to a host computer performed at current cards renewal is delayed. <P>SOLUTION: In a document preparation system for preparing documents used when an ID card is prepared, the document preparation system comprises a first reading means for reading information recorded in the ID card in use, a second reading means for reading information of an owner of the ID card registered on a host computer, and an information selection means for comparing the information obtained by the first and second reading means and selecting the latest recorded information among the information.
