<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new liquid electrochemical gas sensor capable of operating even at a low temperature of approximately -40°C without using any sulfuric acid. <P>SOLUTION: An electrolyte is held by a separator 6 of the liquid electrochemical gas sensor 2, the separator is connected to a sensing electrode 8 and a counter electrode 10, and CO is detected at a temperature of approximately -40 to 70°C.
